What is a Tax Identification Number (TIN) in the UK? (22 อ่าน)

In the UK the Tax Identification Number (TIN) is generally understood to be the Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) issued by the HMRC. It is a 10-digit code used to identify persons and businesses as part of taxation. The UTR performs the function of the UIN in the UK, although internationally its equivalent name TIN is much more popular, in particular, in the U.S. A UTR will be sent to you when you are self-employed or when you have a business, or when you have to make a Self Assessment tax return.
