Customized Web addresses designed to make certain Web links simpler to keep in mind, shorter and clearer are known as vanity URLs. They can be created for marketing campaigns, social media pages, promotional pages, or even branded landing pages. An example of this would be a company that developed a short URL, for instance, brand.com/sale, rather than a long, meandering URL that is automatically generated. Vanity URLs may look better, and can be easier to verbally refer to or use in print advertising. They can also be used to help with brand recognition, if the URL includes a name of the company or a campaign. Businesses must direct vanity domains to useful pages that can be used and keep the naming conventions in all marketing campaigns consistent.
