So last week my 2017 Wrangler threw a check engine light and the code reads P0420 – catalyst efficiency below threshold. The car drives fine, no power loss or weird smells, but the light keeps coming back even after I clear it. I've read online that it could be anything from a bad oxygen sensor to a failing cat, but the real problem is that a new catalytic converter here is crazy expensive.
